Day Air Credit Union gives back to their community for the holidays

KETTERING, OH (January 2, 2019) — Day Air Credit Union has been hard at work getting ready for the holidays. Their branches and departments have partnered with local organizations to help spread holiday cheer throughout the Miami Valley.

The Kettering branch and all of its departments partnered with the City of Kettering to bring gifts to children through The Giving Tree Program. The Giving Tree Program is designed to help families in the Kettering School Districts.

The Day Air Centerville Branch sponsored a child this year through the Centerville City Schools Adopt a Family Program. The program included buying gifts, clothing and more, as well as, bringing the gifts to the families who are either economically disadvantaged or have had an unexpected family financial crisis.

The Beavercreek Branch collected donations for Feed the Creek. This program provides food for students in the Beavercreek Public School system. This aids students that are on government-assisted meal plans by providing easy-to-prepare meals for on the weekends when they’re not at school.

The UD Branch collected donations for the St. Vincent De Paul Dayton Shelter. St Vincent De Paul is a faith-based non-profit serving the Dayton area that aid the homeless and impoverished by providing emergency shelter, food, clothing, and household items. They also provide guidance to leading a self-sustaining life.

The VA Branch co-sponsored the holiday party for the Community Living Center (CLC) at the Dayton VA Medical Center. The CLC is made up of two nursing homes on campus: the hospice unit and the memory care unit. On Christmas Eve morning, the Branch Manager, Holli Davis, served breakfast to the Veterans in the CLC.
