How you can make WCUC 2019 a true learning experience

The 2019 World Credit Union Conference offers a wide variety of educational opportunities

More than 2,100 credit union professionals from 61 countries will ascend on Atlantis Resort in The Bahamas, July 28-31 to enjoy some sun and surf, celebrate our global movement and—most importantly—learn from both experts and colleagues at the 2019 World Credit Union Conference (WCUC).

The World Credit Union Conference is the premier global event for credit unions and financial cooperatives—with the most take-home value. Attendees from around the globe include board members, CEO’s, executive directors, senior-level managers and more. This is the only conference that has a global focus on improving lives through credit unions and financial cooperatives.

A focus on learning

Because of its value, World Council of Credit Unions works hard to ensure each WCUC provides a tremendous learning experience for attendees—and 2019 is no different.

WCUC 2019 features four world-renowned keynote speakers, along with 25 diverse breakout presentations on issues related to leadership, cybersecurity, technology, regulation, the economy and more.

Professionals in attendance can once again earn Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Credits for attending those keynote speeches and breakout sessions. To obtain the maximum of 9.0 CPE Credits offered at WCUC 2019, participants must be present at all general sessions and one session during each breakout period. Your attendance will be recorded at each session you attend.

New educational opportunities

For the first time, more than 30 hours of keynote speeches and breakout sessions will be recorded and synched with PowerPoint slides for our new platform—WCUC On-Demand. This new feature will provide the opportunity for conference attendees, who are conflicted on which sessions to attend while at the conference, to gain access to those presentations online. WCUC On-Demand will even allow those who can’t make it to The Bahamas to view all the same educational sessions from their home or office—24/7.

The Diversity and Inclusion Program at WCUC 2019 offers opportunities for both learning and networking. It combines the previously separate Global Women’s Leadership Network(GLWN) and World Council Young Credit Union Professional (WYCUP) Forum events. The D&I Program is dedicated to advancing women and young leaders worldwide and leverages opportunities presented by the World Credit Union Conference to promote professional development throughout the conference week. It will feature both expert speakers and team-building exercises.

All these educational opportunities will spur further discussion once the sessions are over—and even after the conference ends. That will allow attendees to take what they’ve learned and put it to work for their credit unions back home.

We look forward to seeing you on Paradise Island!
