Advantis Credit Union, one of Oregon’s largest not-for-profit financial cooperatives, has opened its eighth branch in SE Portland. The branch is located at 4235 SE Woodstock Boulevard, in the heart of the Woodstock neighborhood.
The Woodstock branch provides a full range of financial services, including checking, savings, home loans, retirement planning, and consumer and business loans. The branch is also one of the first in the area to feature video teller machines. The Advantis video teller machines combine the convenience and technology of an ATM with the personal attention of a local teller. Using the new video teller machines, members can speak with a local Advantis member advisor via real-time video and receive the same personal service for transactions as if they were using a traditional teller line. The technology allows Advantis Member Advisors to provide more complex guidance and advice on financial products and services.
To celebrate the branch grand opening, Advantis is hosting the Woodstock Community Grant program, a $5,000 grant campaign that supports neighborhood-based organizations. The public is invited to visit the branch and place a vote for one of five preselected Woodstock area organizations including Duniway Elementary PTA, Friends of the Woodstock Community Center, Lewis Elementary PTA, Woodstock Elementary PTA and the Woodstock Street Art Project. Each vote placed translates to a $5.00 donation for the selected organization. Advantis will award a combined total of $5,000 to the selected organizations once a total of 1,000 votes have been placed.
“Giving back through volunteer service and funding has been a core value at Advantis for more than 90 years,” said John Nichols, Vice President of Marketing. “We’re looking forward to supporting more community initiatives and growing our cooperative in this vibrant neighborhood.”
