Alison Carr joins YCUP as senior strategist, consultant

Local consulting firm expands to help grow mid-sized and smaller credit unions

SUMNER, WA (March 18, 2015) — Your Credit Union Partner (YCUP) announced today that Alison Carr, CUDE, PHR, has joined the firm as a senior strategist and consultant. In her new role, she will support community development and outreach initiatives, business development, speaking and training engagements, and strategic partnerships.

“I am thrilled to be part of the great work Your Credit Union Partner is doing,” she said. “It is an honor to be joining the team and furthering the mission of working with and supporting the inspiring work of credit unions.”

Scott Butterfield, CUDE, CUCE, CCUE, founded YCUP in 2010 to help mid-sized and smaller credit unions grow, become more efficient, and increase profitability. Today, the firm is the trusted advisor to more than 85 credit unions across the United States. YCUP specializes in strategic planning, public speaking and customized training topics that include: Governance, Compliance, Growth Strategies, and Community Development. The firm has enjoyed four consecutive years of growth and reached a tipping point last fall as the amount of work exceeded Butterfield’s expectations.

“I knew then that I needed to find the right person, someone with the unique skill and personality to help meet the demand and take Your Credit Union Partner to the next level,” he said. “During the past few years, Alison and I have had the opportunity to collaborate together on a good number of important credit union projects.”

Carr’s experience includes work at the state and national trade association level, as well as at credit unions ranging in assets from $50 million to $500 million. Previously, she served as the Director of Learning Events for the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) in Madison, Wis. Prior to joining CUNA, Carr was the Vice President of Corporate Development for Point West Credit Union in Portland, Ore. Prior to working for Point West, she spent six years as the Director of Education and Training for the Credit Union Association of Oregon. She also served on the board of CUWA, a Portland-based credit union professional organization and on the statewide steering committee for the Oregon Chapter of the National Jump$tart Coalition.
