American 1 to host Shred Day in Milan

JACKSON, MI (June 2, 2022) — American 1 Credit Union offers annual free Community Shred Days for individuals and small businesses to shred their confidential documents in a safe, professional setting.

The Milan Shred Day is Saturday, June 11, from 10am-12pm in the Milan Branch Parking Lot (located at 108 W Main St. in Milan).

“Unfortunately, scams, fraud, and identity theft are incredibly prevalent these days,” said Angela Hadley, Risk Manager for American 1. “Our team works tirelessly to educate the communities we serve on ways to protect themselves. Shred days are a good, secure opportunity to discard documents that could lead to identity theft.”

Free shred days are a way to safely and securely destroy personal documents that include important and private information you would never want anyone to have. American 1 uses reputable shred companies to bring a shredding truck on-site to shred day and can shred your documents before you leave. The shred companies properly dispose of shred material and recycle the material in a secure process, so no personal information is vulnerable.

“Offering free shred days is another way American 1 works to support small businesses and community members,” said Janelle Merritt, Community Partnerships Manager for American 1. “Financial wellness is a top priority for us, and this starts with protecting yourself and your assets.”

Established in 1950, American 1 Credit Union today serves over 61,000 members with 16 branch locations across Jackson, Washtenaw, Hillsdale, Calhoun, Lenawee, and Wayne counties. American 1 is proud to serve the members of their communities by creating financial wellness through personal everyday banking.
