The cost of higher education continues to climb while families face increasing strains on their wallets. Blue Eagle Credit Union, holding true to their brand promise of Pay Less. Earn More. Have Fun., has announced another round of $10,000 in scholarships to be awarded in May in an effort to do just that – help students pay less in tuition, get on track to earn more, and even have some fun along the way.
Blue Eagle Credit Union’s Alexander Scholarship program awards ten $1,000 scholarships annually. Over the last 22
years, $220,000 has been awarded to 220 students, helping them soar towards their education goals! This scholarship isn’t just for graduating high school seniors, though. Any member in good standing and enrolled in higher education (university, college, or technical/vocational school) for the 2022 Fall semester may apply. That means students already attending college or adults going back to school may also apply. Full details can be found in the Alexander Scholarship application.
The Alexander Scholarship was created in honor of Alec and Doris Alexander, founding members of Blue Eagle Credit union. The Alexanders dedicated many years of service to Blue Eagle Credit Union and provided a solid example of people helping people.
Jeff Thompson, Blue Eagle Credit Union CEO, says, “We should all continually be learning. Pursuing higher education is an important chapter in anyone’s life, regardless of age or life stage. Our hope is the Alexander Scholarships awarded will help reduce the financial stressors associated with obtaining a degree. Assisting our members with attaining their education goals, through our various education programs, is just one way that we love to support our community.”
Alexander Scholarship applications are currently being accepted until April 30, 2022, and can be found on the Credit Union’s website at BlueEagleCreditUnion.com. The easy application process takes roughly 10 minutes to apply with few materials needed to complete! Recipients will be notified by May 31, 2022.
