Today, for the 8th consecutive year, Ardent Credit Union awarded scholarships to ten local high school seniors to help them pursue their dreams of higher education. In keeping with the credit union philosophy of people helping people, and Ardent’s continued advocacy for financial wellness, the credit union awarded $11,500 in total to deserving members.
High school seniors who demonstrate academic excellence, participate in volunteer organizations and/or hold part-time jobs were among those chosen to receive a scholarship. All applications were reviewed and scored by the Ardent Scholarship Award Committee.
“We have an incredible group of scholarship winners this year that we know will go on to achieve great success,” said Rob Werner, President & CEO of Ardent Credit Union. “We’re honored to be able to support them as they continue on their journey and pursue higher education.”
The top honor was awarded to Sydney Bules of Garnet Valley, PA. Sydney will be attending Georgia Tech in the fall, and received a $2,500 scholarship which she intends to put towards her studies of Biomedical Engineering. Additional scholarship winners include Lilah Bojanoski, Sabrina Cammisa, James Coppo, Jared Desjardins, Lauren Holinger, Sara Hyams, Michelle Madison, Caitlin Winner and Julia Zak, who all received $1,000 each.
The students, along with their parents, have been invited to attend a special reception hosted by Ardent Credit Union in July. At the reception, the students will receive formal recognition as this year’s scholarship winners.
