Ardent Credit Union partners with local credit unions to support area families with Philabundance donation

In response to current economic conditions, Ardent has remained committed to giving back by combating food insecurity and supporting local families in need

PHILADELPHIA, PA (September 24, 2020) — Recently, Ardent Credit Union (ACU)partnered with fellow local credit unions throughout the region to make a joint donation to Philabundance. The combined funds were used to purchase boxes of food for local families experiencing hardship due to COVID-19. This donation comes as part of Ardent’s ongoing commitment to continue giving back to those in need during these difficult times.

In total, the joint effort between the local credit unions resulted in a donation of over $8,000 to Philabundance to help combat food insecurity.With the funds, 324 boxes of food were purchased, each box feeding a family of four.Along with Ardent, the local participating credit unions included TruMark Financial Credit Union, Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union, Freedom Credit Union, Media Members Federal Credit Union, Merck Sharp & Dohme Federal Credit Union, Sun East Federal Credit Union, Tri County Area Federal Credit Union, Ukrainian Selfreliance Federal Credit Union and Viriva Community Credit Union.

“As we attempt to understand all of the repercussions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s evident that families and individuals in our area are facing extreme hardships,” said Rob Werner, President & CEO of Ardent Credit Union. “We wantto be there for our neighbors in needby continuing tosupport local organizations providing relief.”

In addition to Ardent’s contribution to Philabundance, the credit union also recently made donations to The Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission, Wayne Food Pantry, Phoenixville Area Community Services, Inc. and Martha’s Choice Marketplace.Ardentremains dedicated to offering support to the community throughout this uncertain time.
