Argent Credit Union and Assurance Federal Credit Union announce local merger

RICHMOND, VA (September 19, 2013) — Argent Credit Union and Assurance Federal Credit Union have completed their planned merger. Argent Credit Union will continue as the ongoing credit union and Rose E. Gilliam, Argent’s President/CEO, will lead the combined   $205 million organization.

“We are pleased to welcome Assurance members to Argent Credit Union,” stated Ms. Gilliam.  “Argent is dedicated to being our members’ trusted financial partner for life by offering quality products and services.  Our commitment is to create tangible economic value for members and we are looking forward to the opportunity to serve the members of Assurance Federal Credit Union.”

The next step in the process will be the integration of member accounts and the many services offered by each credit union.  Assurance employees will continue to serve members at the branch on Staples Mill Road in Richmond, which will become the fifth branch for Argent Credit Union in the Richmond Metropolitan Area.
