Austin Chapter of Credit Unions helps raise $182,011 for Dell Children’s Medical Center
AUSTIN, TX (September 25, 2013) — This year marked the 19th Annual Kids Classic Auction Party and Golf Tournament hosted by Christy and Tom Kite and presented by the Austin Chapter of Credit Unions. Through the generous support of those within the Austin community, this event has raised over $3.8 million for Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas and the children and families it serves. One hundred percent (100%) of the proceeds from the event goes directly to Dell Children’s Medical Center to benefit children in the forty-six (46) county Central Texas region.
On Sunday, September 15, 2013, the evening before the Golf Tournament, Shami and Pierre Mulacek hosted this year’s Kids Classic Auction Party at their beautiful home. Guests and sponsors enjoyed dinner and live entertainment from Water and Rust while bidding on one-of-a-kind items in the live and silent auctions. The Auction Party raised $61,466 for Dell Children’s Medical Center.
On Monday, September 16, 2013, 28 teams of players enjoyed an exciting day of golf at The Hills Country Club in Lakeway, Texas. Golf packages for this event included food, awards, prizes and an exclusive golf clinic with Tom Kite. This event raised $120,545 for Dell Children’s Medical Center.
Dell Children’s Medical Center is a world-class hospital that served over 135,000 children in 2012. It is home to eight (8) interior healing gardens and a 3-acre outdoor garden for patients and their family to enjoy. The hospital is a believer in the healing power of art and has the largest non-museum art collection in Austin with over 850 pieces. Dell Children’s Medical Center is also the only hospital in the world to receive the platinum level LEED certification in green building.
