Ben Dubuc recognized as LCUL’s Young Professional of the Year

HARAHAN, LA (May 16, 2022) — The Louisiana Credit Union League’s Young Professionals Network (YPN) presented Ben Dubuc with First Pioneers FCU the 2022 Young Professional of the Year Award during its annual workshop. The event, which united nearly 70 young professionals, took place May 11-12 in Lafayette, Louisiana.

The award recognizes an individual 18-40 years of age who has been exceptionally engaged and supportive of the Louisiana credit union movement over the past year. They enhance teamwork in the organization, inspiring others as a direct result of their dedication and leadership.
There is no one who inspires their team more than our 2022 award recipient. Ben started with the credit union 2019 as a part-time teller with no banking experience. Because of his proactive approach in learning everything about the credit union, he has progressively moved up currently serving as loan officer. Regardless of how many loans are on his desk, Ben answers the general phone line to stay connected with members. He requested to have access to reset online banking passwords so he can better help members instead of transferring them to someone else. From pulling weeds in the drive-thru to borrowing a truck in severe weather to help a branch was short staffed, his commitment and dedication to the credit union is unmatched.
In July 2021, Ben was appointed CULAC Representative for the Lafayette Chapter, which sparked a passion for advocacy. Earlier this year, he was selected to CRASH the CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference in Washington, D.C.
“What makes Ben exceptional is his contributions to our overall culture. He leads by example and has an unwavering passion to make a difference in the lives of others. I couldn’t be prouder to have him part of the First Pioneers family,” commented Lawoka Bolden First Pioneers FCU CEO.
The LCUL Young Professionals Network (YPN) is a statewide initiative that provides networking, development, and growth opportunities for Louisiana’s young credit union professionals.
