CASE Credit Union Awards Scholarships to Local Students

LANSING, MI (June 26, 2013) CASE Credit Union awarded $10,000 in college scholarships to seven deserving local students at their annual meeting on June 18th.

The Chubb/Hayes/Feeman Scholarship awarded $1,000 to five college-bound high school seniors.  Winners were chosen based on their academic achievement, community involvement, school activities, awards and honors, financial need, recommendations and an essay about financial literacy initiatives.

Scholarships were awarded to:

  • Patricia Whiting from Grand Ledge, who will be attending Ferris State University
  • Haley Kluge from Grand Ledge, who will be attending Michigan State University
  • Jayde Glenn-Heintz from Charlotte, who will be attending Lansing Community College
  • Haley Fuhrman from Everett, who will be attending Western Michigan University
  • Bronson ManDeville from Sexton, who will be attending the University of Michigan

The Constance Knowlton Scholarship awarded a $2,500 scholarship to two Lansing Community College students.  Constance Knowlton was a retired teacher from the Lansing School District where she taught for over 30 years touching the lives of many generations of students.  Her commitment to education went far beyond the classroom, having served for many years as a member of the Michigan Education Association and CAREEA (Retired Teachers Association).

Scholarships were awarded to:

  • Cami Miller, who is studying to be an ultrasound technician
  • Makenzie Giller, who is taking her core classes at LCC before transferring to Michigan State University to study veterinary medicine
