Centra Foundation accepting grant applications

(September 17, 2013) — The Centra Foundation is accepting grant applications for its fall/winter grant cycle.  The Centra Foundation was created by the Centra Credit Union in 2012.  The Foundation is dedicated to a philosophy of People Helping People and invites grant proposals from qualified not-for-profit organization serving residents in the communities where Centra members and employees live and work.

Centra Foundation will consider grant proposals that impact its three areas of focus:  Financial Literacy, Pressing Community Needs and Disaster Relief.

Lyn Morgan, President of the Centra Foundation, said about the grants program, “As a newly created foundation, grant funds are currently limited but we are eager to build strong relationships with not-for-profit organizations and Centra members in the Indiana communities where Centra has a presence.  I encourage not-for-profit organizations to visit the Centra Foundation website, www.centrafoundation.org to learn more about our funding interests. Grant applications can be submitted through the website.  The Foundation Board will make funding decisions in November and January.”

Previous community grants include: the People Trail – Columbus Park Foundation; Lemonade Day – Eastside Community Center;  Lifeworks Field of Dreams Playground – Scottsburg, and Independent Living Program – Clark County Youth Shelter and Family Services.

Contact Lyn Morgan with any questions regarding the grant program at lmorgan@centra.org or 812-314-0285 or 800-232-3642 ext 0285.
