Champion Credit Union dedicates week to community service

‘Champion’ is defined as “a person who fights or argues for a cause or on behalf of someone else.”  Champion Credit Union’s first Community CONNECT Week is nearing. Members of their team are dedicating September 10th – 15th, 2018 entirely to community service. During the week, they will be partnering with various organizations in Buncombe and Haywood counties, as well as in Henderson County, where their newest branch will be opening in early 2019.

Over the course of the six days, you’ll find Champion Credit Union employees:

  • Assisting Haywood Waterways Association for their annual Kids in the Creek week.
    (Monday, Sept. 10th)
  • Completing a variety of hands-on activities at Asheville Humane Society.
    (Tuesday, September 11th)
  • Building a home for a local family in Arden with Habitat for Humanity.
    (Wednesday, Sept. 12th)
  • Making enrichment items to satisfy the physical and psychological needs of animals at Sarge’s Animal Rescue. (Wednesday, Sept. 12th)
  • Helping Canton Little League Association improve their baseball fields before the season starts.
    (Thursday, Sept. 13th)
  • Hosting a blood drive for those in need with The Blood Connection at their future Mills River branch. (Friday, Sept. 14th)
  • Walking to End Alzheimer’s in Downtown Asheville.
    (Saturday, Sept. 15th)

They invite you to join them Friday, September 14th at their blood drive between 12-5 pm at 4494 Boylston Highway, Mills River, NC  28759. Those who donate will receive a $10 Ingles gift card.

With a long history of assisting the communities that they serve, Community CONNECT Week perfectly aligns with Champion Credit Union’s mission to passionately impact the community.
