Champion Title & Settlements, Inc. announces e-Closings with NextMark Credit Union
STERLING, VA (May 1, 2020) — Champion Title & Settlements, Inc. continues expanding their e-Closing initiative, successfully closing over 30 Home Equity lines via e-Notarization with NextMark Credit Union in recent weeks. While Champion has been conducting e-Closings since 2018, recent changes in settlement protocolbrought on by the COVID-19 pandemic have resulted in a sharp increase in demand for no-contact closings. NextMark is an established client of Champion’s dating back to the Fall of 2018, and this is their first experience with e-Closings.
E-Closings have eliminated the need for any in-person interaction at settlement, with all signatures and notarizations executed online via internet and webcam. This provides all parties to the transaction with a safe environment during closing. “It is helping us to calm member fears of having someone come to their homes during this time. We have gotten really good feedback and look forward to doing many more,” says Shelly Sisson, Loan Processing Manager at NextMark Credit Union.
Remote Online Notarization (RON) regulations are changing rapidly state by state.
