Charlene Berkenstock named President of Knoxville Area Chapter of Credit Unions

OAK RIDGE, TN (May 5, 2022) — Charlene Berkenstock, Enrichment Federal Credit Union’s Remote Services Manager, was recently named President of the Knoxville Area Chapter of Credit Unions. Enrichment Federal Credit Union’s CEO, Craig Peters, served on the Nominating Committee, who nominated Charlene for this position and was also able to give nominations for the other positions available on the Board. Charlene has been very active with the Chapter for many years, starting when Oak Ridge had their own chapter. She was voted to be the Secretary of the Oak Ridge Chapter Board in 2011. When the Oak Ridge Chapter merged with the Knoxville Chapter in 2012, the name of the chapter changed to Knoxville Area Chapter of Credit Unions (KACCU). Since that time, Charlene has been a member of the Chapter Board, in various positions, the most recent as the Secretary.

The Knoxville Area Chapter is one of seven chapters in the Tennessee Credit Union League. The purpose of each Chapter is to conduct regularly scheduled meetings for the education and networking of credit union staff and officials and to serve and assist the credit union movement.

The Knoxville Chapter consists of Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Cumberland, Loudon, Knox, Morgan, Monroe, Roane, Scott, Sevier, and Unions counties.

The Tennessee Credit Union League helps promote and support the success and advancement of credit unions in meeting their service and structural goals. This is done through legislative and regulatory advocacy, compliance assistance, educational programs, and communications updates.
