Chartway Federal Credit Union hosts grand reopening

NewGround project reopens existing Norfolk location with a new design

CHESTERFIELD, MO (November 20, 2018) — NewGround, a St. Louis-based experiential architecture, design, and delivery firm, recently celebrated the grand reopening of Chartway Federal Credit Union’s (FCU) existing Southern branch in Norfolk, Va.

NewGround provided design, build, and retail immersion training services to transform the existing 4,800 square foot branch. Teller lines were replaced with a new cash bar to introduce and implement the universal banker concept. Other features include updated employee and member engagement areas, an in-lobby ITM, and automated exterior ITMs where drive-up lanes were previously located.

To remain consistent in branding and design, Chartway FCU’s Norfolk branch parallels their other recently renovated Lynnhaven branch, as will three other locations currently under renovation in their Utah market.

The grand reopening event featured tents for local BBQ catering, other food, games, general credit union information, and information on their charitable foundation, “We Promise.” Despite some rain, a local radio station broadcasted live, and the event had a solid membership turnout.

NewGround employees who attended the grand reopening included Joseph DiAntonio, Javier Fernandez, and Ralph Nelson.

“We were honored to work with Chartway FCU to renovate their existing Norfolk location, and we look forward to continuing to partner with the credit union on future projects,” said Kevin Blair, President and CEO of NewGround.
