City & County Credit Union raises over $1000 for Second Harvest Heartland

ST. PAUL, MN (July 10, 2013) — City & County Credit Union raised over $1000 in two weeks for Second Harvest Heartland, the Midwest’s largest hunger relief organization.

The campaign raised $1011 from staff donations as part of Second Harvest’s “Food Mania” competition. Food Mania is a lively competition to end hunger in our community. For two weeks, law and accounting firms, credit unions and food companies battle it out to see who can raise the most food, funds and volunteer hours for Second Harvest Heartland.

City & County was awarded first place among Credit Unions for total donations, and first place for per capita donations. In addition, City & County was one of only two organizations in the competition that had 100% of the staff contribute to the cause.

To encourage staff participation, the Credit Union incorporated a “Superhero” theme and hosted an arm wrestling tournament and pizza party.

Through a variety of fundraisers, City & County Credit Union has raised over $2000 for Second Harvest Heartland in the past year.

City & County Credit Union is a full service financial cooperative that serves 40,000 members with $397 million in total assets. Anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Ramsey, Washington, or Dakota County can join.  For more information, visit www.cccu.com
