Community First Credit Union opens new branch, its 19th

Oakleaf Town Center location is an expansion of the credit union’s branch network

SANTA ROSA, CA (November 9, 2018)Community First Credit Union, a full-service credit union based in Jacksonville with membership open to anyone who lives on the First Coast, announces it has opened its newly constructed expansion branch in the Oakleaf Town Center at9690 Applecross Rd., Jacksonville, Florida 32222.The branch is the credit union’s 19th branch in the market and its first in the Oakleaf area.

The expansion is part of the credit union’s Branch Transformation Project, the institution’s most aggressive and comprehensive branch and facilities upgrade and update in its history which seeks to align physical branch locations with modern banking needs and customer uses. The new branch features Community First’s signature lobby, relaxation zone and community room along with full-service drive-thru and drive-up ATM.

Community First board members, executive leaders and staff along with Oakleaf and Westside political and business leaders held a ceremonial ribbon cutting at the site on Thursday, August 23.A public grand opening event is planned for Saturday, Sept. 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with activities for all ages, incentives and special guests.

“This is our westernmost branch in North Florida,” said John Hirabayashi, CEO and president of Community First. “It is crucial the credit union continues to serve our members where they live and work, especially as our communities grow. We’re proud to give our Oakleaf members a new financial center for daily needs.”

The branch is approximately 3,300 square feet and adopt the new design of Community First’s other newly constructed and renovated branch locations. The exterior features a distinctive cylindrical glass tower, one of the credit union’s architectural signatures of its newly-constructed branches. The tower’s interior will serve as a community room available for use by local organizations and businesses. The interior features a redesign for modern banking including an open floor plan, bright colors and advanced technologies. The branch experience includes full- and self-service and assisted service options.Specialized financial experts are instantly available through the credit union’s Expert Nearby solution.

Auld & White Constructors of Jacksonville built the new financial center, breaking ground in January of this year. In addition to the location at Oakleaf, in the last year Community First has opened its newly constructed Fleming Island location and unveiled fully renovated branches on Jacksonville’s Westside, in Jacksonville Beach and in Arlington.
