Community Resource donates socks, t-shirts to Grassroot Givers

ALBANY, NY (March 3, 2015) — Community Resource Federal Credit Union’s employees donated boxes of socks and t-shirts they collected for Grassroot Givers’ Community Store. Grassroot Givers invites Capital Region residents who are living in poverty to “shop” for necessities such as clothing, personal hygiene items, and household goods at the store year-round. Grassroot Givers specializes in treating visitors with dignity and helping them to find items that best meet their needs.

“Community Resource collects donations of next-to-new clothing and household items from members and the general public at our 20 Wade Road, Latham office. However, once a year, we ask for new t-shirts and socks, especially for men, because there is such a need in our community,” said Wendy Meola, Director of Marketing at Community Resource Federal Credit Union.

Community Resource Federal Credit Union is a community credit union serving those who live, work, worship, or attend school in Albany County and their families. Community Resource provides friendly service, outstanding rates, and low fees on a full range of financial products. Community Resource has $75 million in assets and 7,000 members.
