Community Resource’s employees collect thousands of bottles and cans for animal shelter

LATHAM, NY (May 5, 2014) — Community Resource Federal Credit Union’s employees held a bottle drive on Saturday, May 3, 2014 and collected and sorted 12,200 cans and bottles for Mohawk Hudson Humane Society in Menands.

“The bottle drive is a simple way for our employees to make a difference in our community and directly help the animals cared for by the Humane Society,” said Terry Langlois, CFO for Community Resource Federal Credit Union and the Bottle Drive Leader.

Bottle redemption has become an important revenue source for Mohawk Hudson Humane Society. This year, the Humane Society is on track to raise over $100,000 through bottle redemption. The Humane Society accepts donations of bottles year-round at its 3 Oakland Avenue, Menands location.
