Credit Union SacTown Run raises $183,000 for California & Nevada CMN Hospitals

Twenty-five credit union teams from both states participate in this year’s event

The 12th Annual Credit Union SacTown Run, which took place Sunday, April 3 in Sacramento, raised more than $183,000 for 11 local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN) across California and Nevada.

More than 1,500 runners participated in this year’s SacTown Run, including 500 credit union employees and members from across California and Nevada. The event, which started and ended at the California State Capitol, featured a 10-mile race, 5K run, and “Miracle Mile Fun Run and Fitness Walk”.

The run was hosted by the Sacramento Running Association (SRA) and also served as the Pacific Association 10-Mile Championship. Click here for photos!

“Once again, we were honored to work with the Sacramento Running Association in hosting such a great event to raise much needed funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals throughout both California and Nevada,” said Diana Dykstra, president and CEO of the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues (headquartered in Ontario, CA and Sacramento, CA). “These donations will help kids receive the care and treatment they need, thanks to a number of credit unions and businesses across both states.”

John Pamer, chair of the Credit Union SacTown Run and CEO of Diablo Valley Federal Credit Union, said participants were excited to see the race return to its “live” format this year. “Throughout the Covid lockdown over the past two years, we never waited to help children and families who needed treatment and care at CMN Hospitals,” Pamer said. “Our stakeholders have been just as committed as always to raising funds and awareness. The need is constant, and so is our commitment to helping sick children and their families.”

Credit unions played a big part in fundraising, with 25 credit union teams participating from across California and Nevada. In addition, runners, walkers, and independent fundraisers also raised money to be donated to their local CMN hospitals.

“As the Superhero sponsor of this year’s run, CO-OP Solutions wants to thank and congratulate all runners and the 25 credit union teams involved in organizing this year’s virtual event,” said Joe Franklin, vice president of experiential marketing and engagement for CO-OP Solutions. “It is very gratifying to be a part of an effort that raised more than $183,000 to help sick children receive the medical care they need.”
