Credit Union Sponsors James B. Edwards Elementary School

(N. CHARLESTON, S.C.) – January 28, 2013 – South Carolina Federal Credit Union presented James B. Edwards Elementary School with a sponsorship check of $2,291.31 on January 24, 2013.

“We are proud to be part of, and support the Mount Pleasant community,” said Scott Woods, President and CEO, South Carolina Federal Credit Union. “We strongly believe in the credit union philosophy of ‘People Helping People,’ and enjoy putting that philosophy into action.”

South Carolina Federal’s sponsorship provided the school with $1,000 to use at their discretion. The remaining amount provided 100 first grade students with their own copy of “The 7 Habits of Happy Kids,” by Sean Covey.

“‘The 7 Habits of Happy Kids’ is highly integrated into our leadership model at James B. Edwards Elementary, so our students are very familiar with the book,” said Assistant Principal Jake Rambo. “They were excited to receive their own copies.”
