Credit Union’s Scholarship Application Deadline Is March 4
WAYNESBORO, VA: For the 18th year, DuPont Community Credit Union (DCCU) will award $1,000 scholarships to 20 high school seniors and one adult at DCCU’s Annual Meeting in late April. A total of $21,000 in scholarships will be awarded at the meeting. The deadline for applications is March 4, 2013.
High school seniors are eligible for 20 scholarships include those attending public high schools in DCCU’s service area (see list at right); local private schools; and home-schooled students. For the first time this year an adult student completing continuing education course work will also be eligible for one scholarship.
Applicants will complete an online course, How to pay for school, and type a 300-500 word essay, “How do you plan to pay for your college education”? The applicant will be required to complete the assignment on their own. The application and essay can be completed online at mydccu.com.
If the applicant does not have internet access, they may visit a DCCU office location in Waynesboro, Staunton, Stuarts Draft, Verona, Harrisonburg, or Woodstock to complete the requirements. Notification of the scholarship winners will be mailed shortly after the decision with an invitation to be recognized and attend the Credit Union’s Annual meeting in late April.
