CU DEI Collective issues joint statement in solidarity with Black Community

The CU Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Collective is an expanding group being formed within the Credit Union Movement devoted to furthering DEI, a shared cooperative principle. We believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion is fundamental to a vibrant, relevant and growing Credit Union Movement. It is good business.  Founding members of the CU DEI Collective include national credit union system organizations and service providers, committed to the movement’s cooperative principles.

Victor Corro, CEO, Coopera Consulting shared, “We need our movement to intentionally include the many voices coming from our multicultural nation. Angles, perspectives from varied worldviews will translate in relevant products and services that appeal to a diverse membership base. This is a deliberate exercise in maximizing the good that credit unions capable of doing”

Our mission is to bring forth social, economic, political, and legal justice for combatting centuries of violent oppression and systemic racism everywhere. Together, we are stronger. Together, we can create a better world where all members of our communities can take part in our democracy, live free of fear from violence, and enjoy physical and financial well-being.

“The support from the CU DEI Collective is heartwarming.  This type of collaboration is exactly what is needed to heal our nation from racial discrimination,” said Renée Sattiewhite, President/CEO of the African American Credit Union Coalition (AACUC).
