CU*Answers Network Services Launches Next Generation Business Continuity Platform

GRAND RAPIDS, MI (April 26, 2013) – CU*Answers Network Services, a West Michigan-based technology solutions provider, today announced it has launched a next generation data backup and recovery platform: DataBP Gen 2. This system provides online network data backups, industry-standard AES-256 data encryption, granular data recovery capabilities, nightly secure offsite backups to one of CU*Answers’ SSAE 16 certified data centers, and on-appliance virtualization technology.

The all-in-one system satisfies data backup and disaster recovery needs for credit unions by using a multi-layer approach to data protection. It also reduces burdens on IT staff by offloading operational responsibilities to Network Services, who provides remote management of the system and offsite backup process and integrity checking.

Use of data deduplication and compression technology dramatically reduces storage and network bandwidth requirements. The system features virtualization technology based on VMware that quickly recovers an image of a failed server directly on the backup appliance, allowing staff to quickly get back to work while administrators work offline to permanently recover the failed server.

“DataBP Gen 2 significantly raises the bar for business continuity solutions for credit unions, says Matt Sawtell, AVP of Managed Technology Services. “We’ve directly addressed scalability limitations with this new platform by using open standards hardware. We have solutions for single branch institutions all the way to large multi-branch organizations with distributed technology footprints.”

DataBP Gen 2 is available now. Contact the Network Services sales team at netserv@cuanswers.com for more information.
