CUES Board Members Elected by Acclamation

MADISON, WI (September 5, 2013) — The Credit Union Executives Society congratulates three board members who have each been elected for a three-year term.

Two are incumbents:  Chair Teresa Y. Freeborn, president/CEO of Xceed Financial Credit Union, El Segundo, Calif.; and Vice Chairman/Chairman-Elect Robert D. Ramirez, CCE, CEO of  Vantage West Federal Credit Union.

Joining the board is Stephanie Sherrodd, CCE, president/CEO of Texas Dow Employees Credit Union, Lake Jackson, Texas, who will replace Past Chairman and Director Carla L. Altepeter, CCE, president/CEO of Numerica Credit Union, Spokane Valley, Wash. Altepeter will have served the maximum number of terms allowed.

The three new board members were nominated in May by the governance committee of the CUES Board of Directors, and elected by acclamation, as no nominations by petition were received by the July 8 deadline. The directors will start their new terms after the CUES Annual Business Meeting, to be held during CEO/Executive Team Network™, Nov. 3-6 in San Diego.

CUES President/CEO Chuck Fagan said, “We are honored to have Teresa and Bob continue to serve on the CUES Board, and extend a warm welcome to Stephanie.”

Other CUES board members include Treasurer Gerrianne D. “Winky” Burks, CCE, former  president/CEO and executive advisor, Northwest Federal Credit Union, Herndon, Va.; Secretary Caroline Willard, EVP/markets and strategy, CO-OP Financial Services, Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; Immediate Past Chairman/Director Lary B. McCants, CCD, CCE, president/CEO, IBM Southeast Employees’ Federal Credit Union, Boca Raton, Fla.; Past Chairman and Director Dale F. Schumacher, president/CEO, Tampa Bay Federal Credit Union, Tampa, Fla.; Director Joseph F. Hearn, CCE, president/CEO, Dupaco Community Credit Union, Dubuque, Iowa; and Director Chris McDonald, president/CEO, Northwest Federal Credit Union, Herndon, Va.

Schumacher was CUES’ governance committee chairman for this election. Governance committee members were Altepeter, Hearn and McCants.

The Credit Union Executives Society is a Madison, Wisconsin-based, independent, not-for-profit, international membership association for credit union executives. Its mission is to educate and develop credit union CEOs, directors and future leaders.
