CUES, MNA Announce “Catch ‘Em Doin’ it Right” Contest Winner

MADISON, WI — The Credit Union Executives Society and Michael Neill & Associates, Inc., Atlanta, congratulate Cheryl Wood, Assistant Manager, and Chris Ferguson, AVP/Retail Delivery, from FORUM Credit Union in Indianapolis, who won $1,000 in the “Catch ‘Em Doin’ it Right” contest.

Chris caught Cheryl taking care of a member who had lost his wife. Cheryl didn’t help with anything large—she couldn’t get him a loan or make money where there wasn’t any—but she did provide emotional support as his close family and friends had already passed on. She helped balance checking accounts, sent a condolence card and talked with the member about his wife at each of his visits to the credit union. When the member became sick, Cheryl visited him at the hospital to see what she could do. At this point, a friend of the family stepped in to take over the member’s finances remotely. Cheryl missed the member’s visits to the credit union as he was now living in a nursing home; and, with no close family or friends left, Cheryl began visiting him there and continued until he passed away.

This contest was designed to bring attention to credit union employees who are “Doin’ it Right”—offering outstanding service to every member at every touch point. With over 50 entries, the competition was stiff and really demonstrated the excellent service this industry provides.
