Day 2 of ALM First Financial Forum offers strategic deep dive

The second day of ALM First’s Financial Forum featured two different tracks developed for financial executive and board member audiences. Each group began by discussing the five main pillars of high performing financial institutions. Board members learned key definitions while executives strategically discussed each characteristic’s contribution to performance and ALM First’s recommendations for institutions to consider.

The executive track then focused on managing the balance sheet in an in-depth session led by Travis Goodman, CFA and Principal, Advisory Services and Cullen Coxe, Senior Director, Advisory Services for ALM First. Goodman and Coxe explored why the key principals of effective management shouldn’t change – even in a rising rate environment. The balance of the executive track included sessions on assessing your investment portfolio, advanced liquidity management and applications of hedging strategies.

The board track continued with analyzing financial statements, evaluating the investment portfolio, understanding liquidity solutions and fundamentals of hedging strategies. Board member sessions were very interactive as many questions were asked to clarify how and why financial institutions might use various instruments.

The Financial Forum, hosted by ALM First, is the premier event for financial executives to discover insights, formulate strategies, and gain new perspectives about the coming year. With two separate tracks and a variety of speakers including, industry experts and regulators, and numerous networking opportunities, the annual ALM First Financial Forum is the must-attend event for everyone involved in managing or monitoring the balance sheet including CEOs, CFOs, Senior Management, Controllers, Treasury Staff, ALCO and Board Members.
