Day Air Credit Union receives a $2,200 grant from the Ohio Credit Union Foundation

Day Air Credit Union is excited to be the recipient of $2,200 in grant funds from the Ohio Credit Union Foundation. These funds will be used to purchase equipment for a partnership with the St. Mary Connect Program, which delivers financial education to local seniors living at or below the medium poverty level. Day Air will be matching these funds to provide four projectors, four speaker systems and one HP Laptop Pro Computer to the St. Mary Connect Program.

“St. Mary Development is extremely grateful to Day Air Credit Union for providing us with a grant for video equipment to reach our low-income senior residents, at multiple locations, with high quality programming including financial education for the prevention of scams, fraud, and high risk lending, as well as, budgeting and savings tips. This grant for equipment will help our senior residents to maintain their independence, and empower them to be self-sufficient, as long as possible,” said Cathy Campbell, Director of Philanthropy, St. Mary’s Development Corporation.

In partnership with the St. Mary Development Corporation, Day Air Credit Union will provide video equipment for the St. Mary Connect Program to help low-income seniors with limited access to technology living in their independent-living communities. Day Air will provide the Service Coordinators at St. Mary with this equipment so they can teach over 600 seniors adult financial education and integrate it into their regular programming.

“The funds from the Ohio Credit Union Foundation will help us to provide enhanced adult financial education to the members of our community,” said William Burke, President and CEO of Day Air Credit Union. “Day Air exists to enhance our member’s financial well-being and we believe that improving our community members’ financial education is extremely important.”
