DCU selects Digital Onboarding Inc. to simplify the new account activation process

MARLBOROUGH, MA (February 23, 2018) — One of the largest credit unions in the nation, Digital Federal Credit Union, better known as DCU, has selected Digital Onboarding Inc., a SaaS technology company that provides a fully automated new account activation platform to maximize member engagement rates, while virtually eliminating the cost of phone calls, paper forms, and postage from the onboarding process.

“When a new or existing member invests the time to open an account with DCU, we want to ensure that they have access to our entire suite of products and services, and that their onboarding experience be simple, yet insightful,” said Julie Moran, Senior Vice President of Member Services for DCU. “If it reduces cost in the process, that’s a win for us and our members. Partnering with Digital Onboarding Inc. helps strengthen DCU’s position as a digital leader in driving engagement and overall satisfaction, especially with millennial members.”

According to Javelin Strategy and Research, a fully engaged new checking account customer who sets up direct deposit, uses bill pay, and swipes their debit card generates $212 more per year than an inactive customer and owns 2.7x more financial accounts with that institution.

“After investing more than a decade helping financial institutions digitally acquire new customers and members, I’m thrilled to offer a more modern and efficient solution that helps market leaders like DCU capture the full value of their relationships.” said Ted Brown, CEO of Digital Onboarding Inc.

The DCU FinTech Innovation Center, based in Boston, MA is the leading sponsor of FinTech startups in New England and is dedicated to building a new legacy of innovation by actively fostering and working with seed-stage startups. The nonprofit Center focuses on helping startups gain initial customer traction and provides seed-stage FinTech startups with one year of free mentorship, workspace, community, and a professional network.

“DCU is always exploring opportunities to pilot and learn from promising new FinTech innovation initiatives,” said David Araujo, Senior Vice President of Technology and Innovation for DCU. “Each startup that goes through our Innovation Center, such as Digital Onboarding Inc., is equipped with a wide range of resources to help prepare them for success within the industry, whether it be through a partnership with DCU or another organization.”
