Dow Credit Union approved to serve three counties
Expansion opens membership to more than 3.25 million people
MIDLAND, MICHIGAN (October 1, 2019) — Dow Credit Union announced today that it has expanded its field of membership to those who live, work, worship or attend school in Alameda, Contra Costa and Solano counties. These counties collectively have a population of more than 3.25 million people, making it the largest field of membership expansion in the credit union’s 81-year history.
Originally founded to serve the employees of Dow Chemical Co. in Pittsburg, Dow Credit Union expanded its charter in 2008 to serve communities in the eastern part of Contra Costa County. What the credit union found with its expanded membership base was a natural fit.
“We are very proud of what we have been able to do for our communities and are excited to be able to bring those opportunities to new areas,” said Dow Credit Union CEO Paul Kramer. “Serving Contra Costa, Solano and Alameda counties is a great opportunity for us and for these communities.”
