EECU offers assistance for members impacted by government shutdown

Educational Employees Credit Union (EECU) announced a special financial assistance package to help members experiencing a disruption in pay due to the federal government shutdown.

Across the nation, thousands of federal employees are facing unexpected financial uncertainty as a result of the federal government shutdown. EECU is committed to standing by its members during these difficult times by offering immediate support and practical solutions to help ease the burden.

To help bridge the gap caused by missed paychecks, EECU is offering its qualified members who are federal government employees the ability to skip a loan payment, in addition to an emergency no-interest loan of up to $10,000 for up to 30 days, based on verified federal income. EECU will also waive share and IRA certificate early withdrawal penalties for affected members to allow for immediate access to their savings without added costs.

Beyond immediate relief, EECU remains dedicated to helping members strengthen their financial stability. All members have access to free financial wellness resources, including credit and debt guidance workshops and webinars, in partnership with BALANCE.
