Presented by the Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado and BlueStar Recyclers and sponsored by Navakai, Inc., Ent, Colorado Springs Utilities and Fox 21 TV, organizers tallied 711 cars through the drop-off lanes during the six hours of the event. In addition to keeping these electronics out of local landfills, the event helped community members properly dispose of their old computers and laptops. BlueStar Recyclers provided an on-site hard drive shredder to completely destroy drives on equipment being recycled, providing permanent protection for any sensitive business or personal information the drives may have contained.
A spokesperson from the BBB of Southern Colorado said, “…this event was much bigger and more successful than any that’s been done before thanks to our amazing partners, especially Ent, who all pitched in to help promote this event on such a big scale.”
