“Everyone’s Gotta Eat” Food Drive
DEER PARK, TX (May 1, 2013) – The Furthering Community Unity (FCU) Team powered by Shell Federal Credit Union is in their fifth year serving their communities and they couldn’t be more excited. To date the FCU team has raised over $63,697 and donated 6,464 hours to the community.
Starting May 1st the FCU Team is hosting their annual food drive through May 31st. The Food Drive is titled “Everyone’s Gotta Eat,” as the collection benefits people and pets. All eight Shell FCU branches will be collecting food that will be donated to local food pantries and animal shelters in the cities of Deer Park, Pasadena, La Porte, Pearland, Webster, Channelview and Humble.
With summer just around the corner, the FCU Team partnered with these local elementary schools for the “Everyone’s Gotta Eat” Food Drive:
San Jacinto Elementary, Deer Park
Fairmont Elementary, Pasadena
Morales Elementary, Pasadena
Rizzuto Elementary, La Porte
Jessup Elementary, Pearland
North Point Elementary, Webster
Harvard Elementary, Houston
Park Lake Elementary, Humble
More than 400 students at each school will receive a paper lunch sack asking them to donate one nonperishable food item for people or pets. Each year the students help the FCU Team add an incredible amount of donations to local pantries and animal shelters.
