First Capital FCU Has an Award-Winning Youth Program!

YORK, PA (May 24, 2013) On May 16-18, 2013 the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association (PCUA) held its Annual Convention & Exposition at the Hershey Lodge. And, a portion of that conference was dedicated to an awards reception.  The PCUA offered many awards to qualifying credit unions including the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award, which recognizes credit unions that are involved in community projects and activities; the Louise Herring Philosophy-In-Action Member Service Award; which recognizes credit unions that do an extraordinary job incorporating the credit union philosophy into their daily operations; and the Desjardins Financial Education Award; which recognizes credit unions that support financial literacy.

First Capital was awarded 1st Place for its new youth program and received the Louise Herring Philosophy-In-Action Member Service Award.  The youth who participate in the Deep Sea Savers and Rock Star Super Savers Clubs receive a lot of benefits just by being a member of the credit union.  First Capital rewards them for saving their money and encourages them to get involved.  On July 27th, we will be celebrating Scuba Sammy and Roxy Rockstar’s birthday with the ultimate birthday bash at a York Revolution game.  Tickets for a youth member are free if they RSVP.  This is just one of the many benefits of being a First Capital member.

First Capital Federal Credit Union is a $150 million asset-size, credit union with nearly 18,000 members based in York, PA.  Founded in 1954 as S. Morgan Smith Credit Union, First Capital has merged and grown, and continues to work closely with more than 400 companies and organizations throughout York County and across the country.
