First Financial to provide brighter holidays for 100 local children in need

LUTHERVILLE, MD (December 18, 2018) — In anticipation of the 2018 holiday season, First Financial Federal Credit Union enthusiastically kicked off a Salvation Army Angel Tree Drive to benefit area children in need. By the conclusion of the event on December 10, the credit union, through generous donations from employees, had raised enough gifts and funds to give 100 children a happy holiday.

“You did it again,” remarked a proud and humbled First Financial President and CEO, Eric Church, to his employees. “Hand in hand with our communities, you were able to provide 100 children with presents during the holidays.” According to Church, First Financial employees raised more than $1,200 in cash, along with $500 worth of toys and clothes.

“Our credit union is proud to seek out opportunities to rise up in support of our community,” Church continued, “because doing so does more than help people in need. It also honors a longstanding tradition of our credit union representing what we stand for and who we are.”

The Salvation Army Angel Tree program will distribute the gifts donated by First Financial, along with food for holiday meals, to participating families throughout our communities, in an effort to ensure that no one is without joy and hope this holiday season.
