Five Miami Valley families to compete in Wright-Patt Credit Union’s Savings Race 6 – Health & Financial Fitness Edition
FAIRBORN, OH (October 10, 2013) — Wright-Patt Credit Union (WPCU) kicked off Savings Race® 6 – Health & Financial Fitness Edition last night during a special event at Kettering Health Network’s Indu & Raj Soin Medical Center announcing this year’s five new teams, all of which are competing to win a $10,000 grand prize within the next eight months as they learn how to become healthier both financially and physically.
WPCU partnered with Kettering Health Network (KHN), Dayton Children’s Hospital, Horan Insurance and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Miami Valley for this special edition. Each organization is providing health advisors, subject matter experts, including doctors, dietitians and outreach specialists. In addition, each organization has provided direction and resources to encourage children and families to pursue healthy lifestyles as part of the Race.
“The Savings Race puts Wright-Patt Credit Union’s commitment of people helping people into action,” said President and CEO Doug Fecher. “With the help of our community partners, this is exactly what we will do as we teach Miami Valley residents how to maintain a healthy financial and physical lifestyle,” Fecher continued.

The event began with a one-mile walk to demonstrate the importance of physical activity. Teams, coaches and guests also learned how they will improve their financial outlook and become better health care consumers through the eight-month competition.
