Former NCUA chair addresses four key credit union issues in new online videos

FREDERICK, MD (September 11, 2015) — Dennis Dollar, former NCUA Chair, speaks out on four of the leading issues facing credit unions today in a series of online videos called Risk Watch. The videos can be viewed online for free here .

In the videos, Dollar, now principal partner of Dollar Associates, breaks down what can be complex topics in an easy-to-understand manner and within about five minutes.

Two of the four videos have been released thus far. They include:

Fixed-asset Limitations: What the Recent Changes in This Rule Mean for Your Credit Union
Low-income Designation: Why Your Credit Union Shouldn’t Overlook It

Two more episodes will be released later in September. These will address the risk-based capital rule and the continuing education requirements for directors and fiduciaries.

“These rules and regulations may seem unwelcoming to credit unions, but we find that when they are properly understood, these rules can actually prove to be very helpful,” Dollar said.

Risk Watch is an online series of videos designed to benefit the smaller financial institution in a heavily regulated world. There have been 69 videos in the series thus far.
