FORUM Credit Union Launches Bright Start Entrepreneurial Program

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (August 28, 2013) — FORUM Credit Union recently launched a youth entrepreneur program called Bright Start.  The program is designed to promote early entrepreneurial skills for kids and teens.

FORUM believes the entrepreneurial spirit can positively impact a child’s life as it teaches responsibility, promotes financial independence, improves communication skills, and inspires self-esteem.  FORUM’s Bright Start Program offers resources and ideas for youth who are interested in starting their own business.  The program also provides detailed steps for youth to take in order to create and run their own business.  Steps include conceptualizing an idea, marketing, and running the business.

FORUM recently sponsored a contest for kids who have their own business as part of the Bright Start Program.  Youth ages 8-19 could submit a two minute video explaining their business and what they’ve learned from their experience.  FORUM awarded prizes of $100 to the three winners.  This year’s winners were Britta’s Car Detailing, Chase’s Tux and Tie Magic, and Jack, Ally, and Luke’s Mow & Stuff.  The winning videos can be viewed at www.youtube.com/brightstartyouth.
