Freedom Credit Union & MCIU Receive More Than 740 Nominations For 2013 Voices Of Inspiration Awards

WARMINSTER, PA (March 29, 2013) – Freedom Credit Union and the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit, sponsors of the Voices of Inspiration Awards for Teaching Excellence, received 745 nominations for this year’s 7th annual awards, exceeding last year’s total nominations. The Voices of Inspiration program honors exceptional teachers, support staff, and specialists in Montgomery County who show an extraordinary dedication to young people, while exhibiting the qualities that represent truly inspirational educators.

This year’s nominations came from all 21 Montgomery County school districts, 7 non-public schools, and the MCIU. Montgomery County students, parents, co-workers, administrators, and school employees were able and encouraged to submit nominations.

Twenty-three finalist winners will be chosen: one educator from each of the twenty-one Montgomery County public school districts, one educator from the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit, and one educator from a Montgomery County non-public school. These finalist winners will receive $100 each and be recognized at Freedom’s Voices of Inspiration Awards banquet to be held on May 8, 2013 at the Philadelphia Marriott West, emceed by Ms. Deanna Durante of NBC 10 Philadelphia. From the twenty-three finalists, three grand-prize winners (one elementary school, one middle school, and one high school teacher) will be honored with Freedom’s Voices of Inspiration Award and receive an additional $500 each.

Additionally, the three schools (one elementary school, one middle school, and one high school) in Montgomery County with the most submitted nominations will win a cash prize to use for any educational purpose. The school with the most nominations will receive $500. The two runners up will each receive $250.
