Frontwave Credit Union, the naming rights partner of Frontwave Arena, is proud to join in celebrating the venue’s one-year anniversary as the region’s premier destination for sports, entertainment, and community connection. Since opening its doors on September 16, 2024, Frontwave Arena has become a catalyst for economic growth, cultural enrichment, and community engagement throughout North San Diego County.
The anniversary reflects the arena’s impact as both a vibrant entertainment venue and a hub for regional connection. From professional sports to youth programs, community festivals, and cultural celebrations, Frontwave Arena has made good on its promise to be more than just a venue — it has become a cornerstone of Oceanside’s identity.
“Frontwave Arena has quickly become more than an entertainment destination. Fans can join the one-year anniversary celebration on October 9 when the LA Clippers face the Guangzhou Loong Lions (Chinese Basketball Association) in an exhibition matchup, highlighted by Frontwave Arena’s 1st Birthday Bash, a family-friendly fan fest featuring giveaways, interactive games, and birthday-style fun for fans of all ages.

Frontwave Arena has hosted more than 300,000 visitors across more than 75 events — from professional sports and sold-out concerts to community gatherings — boosting local tourism and supporting small businesses. Frontwave Arena currently employs 50 full-time employees and 200 part-time staff, with plans to expand alongside a schedule of 135 events projected for 2026 and 150 for 2027.
Highlights from the inaugural year include:
- Marquee Moments: Opening night with the Gold Over America Tour featuring Simone Biles, home games for the San Diego Sockers, Clippers and Strike Force, concerts with Cake, Rick Springfield, Tito Double P and Megan Moroney, comedy from Theo Von — and more.
- Community at the Core: High-profile gatherings such as Calvary Chapel’s Easter service, the Marine Corps Ball, and multiple high school and university graduations.
- Inspiring the Next Generation: Youth soccer, basketball and football camps, along with a career pathways program opening doors to sports and entertainment careers.
- Families and Local Impact: Nonprofit partnerships, small business recognition, events like “Halloween Treats in the Suite” with the Boys & Girls Club, and ongoing advocacy through the Frontwave Foundation.
