The La Liberte Community Excellence Award is presented to one Global Credit Union employee each year in recognition of their service to the community.
Employees who volunteer for charitable causes and organizations submit forms to the credit union noting the hours and causes they supported. From the submissions, candidates are evaluated and selected by the La Liberte Community Excellent Award Committee. The committee named Global Credit Union Argonne Branch Manager, Hayley Steward, as the 2021 recipient.
Ms. Steward submitted a total of 29 hours of community service in 2021, despite the pandemic creating obstacles for in-person volunteering.
Steward reflected "I don't serve to win any award, it's just something I like to do ever since my mother got me involved back in 2007."
Global Credit Union has donated $500 to Partners for Pets in Steward’s honor. It is because of the dedication and selfless acts of its staff that Global has the honor of recognizing employees who volunteer throughout the year.
