Great Lakes Credit Union donates $2,000 to the first charity of 2018
BANNOCKBURN, IL (March 6, 2018) — Great Lakes Credit Union (GLCU) has taken on a new initiative to expand their community giving this year with “Charity 2018”. For Charity 2018, GLCU will be selecting five local charities that will each receive $2,000 throughout the year.
The first donation of $2,000 for Charity 2018 was made on February 27, 2018 to the Community Action Agency for McHenry County. Community Action Agency’s mission is to better focus available local, state, federal, and private resources to assist low-income individuals and families to acquire useful skills and knowledge, to gain access to new opportunities, and to achieve economic self-sufficiency.
Community Action Agency’s Administrative Assistant, Pearl Waldspurger stated, “The $2,000 donation will be used to help families in-need throughout the Woodstock community. Some families do not have food to put on the table, and need help with everyday basic essentials. Thank you for the donation; it will go a long way.”
