Greater Abbeville Federal Credit Union Surprises Local Diners With a Free Lunch

ABBEVILLE, SC (June 19, 2013) Greater Abbeville Federal Credit Union, GAFCU, surprised dozens of hungry diners with a free lunch on Wednesday. GAFCU representatives showed up at Theo’s and paid the lunch tab for lunchtime diners. Over fifty people were recipients of the free lunch on Wednesday afternoon.

“This is amazing” said one local diner who was on their work lunch break. “In times like this when every penny counts, this is just amazing.”

Faye Crocker, CEO of Greater Abbeville Federal Credit Union greeted diners and joined a table for lunch.

“Last year we developed a new mission statement, and that is to be the source of hope for Abbeville County” Crocker said. “In everything we do, we strive to live up to that mission statement. With so many people hurting financially in our community, this is an opportunity for us to put our mission statement into action.” Crocker added.

This event precedes a larger initiative that is part of the South Carolina Credit Union League MADTAG Campaign that will be traveling to other parts of the state throughout July surprising diners with a free lunch in smaller communities.
