Greater Nevada Credit Union celebrates holiday giving through its 2023 Greater Giving campaign

RENO, NV (December 22, 2023) — Greater Nevada Credit Union (GNCU) thanks its employees and members in northern Nevada for making Greater Giving 2023 a success. This year, the annual holiday charitable giving campaign focused on making positive impacts to address food and housing security and community health and wellness.

  • GNCU collected about 2,000 pounds of food and donated $10,000 in funds to the Food Bank of Northern Nevada at KTVN’s annual Share Your Christmas Drive-By Food Drive event.
  • As part of its three-year partnership with the Reno Philharmonic, GNCU collected more than 900 pounds of additional food during its Spirit of the Season holiday concert series.
  • With all its locations and events combined, GNCU provided more than 40,440 meals to neighbors and families who are experiencing food insecurity.

“We are so grateful for our partnership with Greater Nevada Credit Union,” said Nicole Lamboley, President and CEO of the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. “So many families are needing assistance this year, making partnerships such as this one even more important. Together we can help nourish our community.”

In addition to its food donations, GNCU also spread good cheer to children and families.

  • Greater Nevadans delivered four barrels of new toys to Renown Children’s Hospital.
  • Toy donations were also delivered to Austin’s House in Minden, McGill Elementary School in Ely, and West Wendover Communities in Schools organization in Elko County.
  • Warm clothing was collected and donated to local community organizations such as the Elko Committee Against Domestic Violence.
  • The Eagle Station branch, Eagle Station administration office, and Dayton branch collected food and toys for the children of survivors at Advocates to End Domestic Violence.
