Greater Texas Credit Union donates to support Family Eldercare Fan Drive

AUSTIN, TX (September 10, 2018) — Greater Texas Credit Union raised a total of $1,000 for the Family Eldercare Summer Fan Drive, adding to the more than $154,000 and 600+ fans raised throughout Central Texas assisting in Family Eldercare’s goal is to distribute 7,000 fans for 2018.

Family Eldercare was founded in 1982 by a group of professionals concerned with supporting the family’s role as caregiver for frail elders through training and information. The agency soon expanded to include services to prevent abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation of elders and adults with disabilities. Distribution of fans has grown from 50 fans to frail elders in Austin in 1990, to an annual average distribution of 6,000 fans to low-income older adults, people with disabilities and families with children in 11-12 Central Texas counties.
