BASTROP, TX (October 30, 2013) — Greater TEXAS Federal Credit Union (GTFCU) hosted a free Shred Day Event in Bastrop, Texas on Saturday, October 26, 2013.

The whole community was encouraged to come out and shred their personal and confidential documents for free, including bank statements, invoices, contracts and tax returns.

Over 53 people attended and 3,911 pounds of paper were shredded and recycled by Cintas on-site. Many attendees appreciated the ability to see their documents shredded in front of them and said they felt better about participating in the event because of that.
