In 1953, the roots of Heritage Community Credit Union were planted when seven civilians working on Mather Air Force Base recognized a need for better financial service on base. In the years that followed, this organization would grow to serve military personnel and take on the name, Mather Federal Credit Union. After serval years and careful consideration, the member-elected Board of Directors voted to change the name of Mather Federal Credit Union to Heritage Community Credit Union. This name was chosen for its reference to tradition and strength, and as a tribute to the members who have been instrumental in the credit union's growth and success since their inception in 1953. Effective March 1, 1999, Heritage Community Credit Union completed its conversion and began operating under a state community charter. Today, Heritage Community serves members who live, work, worship or attend school in Sacramento or Placer Counties in California.

Products such as in-house credit card processing, a best-of-breed home banking product, cross-sell products, relationship pricing, risk-based pricing, shared branching and an easy-to-use real-time SQL Reporting Module are just some of the system highlights.
