Honor Credit Union announces Mustang CU Student Credit Union

ST. JOSEPH, MI (October 22, 2013) — Opening this fall will be Honor Credit Union’s latest student credit union, Mustang CU.  Mustang CU will be the student credit union for River Valley Middle and High School, and will be ran by the students 6th grade through 12th grade with the supervision and guidance of Honor Credit Union’s Berrien Springs staff.  Mustang CU marks Honor Credit Union’s first student credit union in a high school.  The student credit union will celebrate its grand opening on Wednesday October 30 and will be open every Wednesday during all lunch hours after that.

Mustang CU will employ the students to work as managers and tellers as their peers open accounts and make deposits.  In addition to promoting financial literacy and other valuable life skills, Mustang CU will show students how easy and fun saving money can be.  Honor Credit Union’s student credit union program helps show students that it is never to early to start saving money!  With a rewards program in place, students will be excited to make deposits into their Mustand CU savings account.

“We are thrilled to be opening Mustang CU in River Valley Middle and High School,” comments Berrien Springs branch manager Kellie Eldridge, “Showing the students how easy it is to get a savings account started is a valuable lesson for their future and fun!”
